Passport Fees Set to Increase this Spring:
Plan Ahead to Avoid Paying More

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – Hudson County Clerk E. Junior Maldonado advises Hudson County
residents that the US Department of State is raising the Passport Execution Fee from $25.00 to
$35.00 on April 2, 2018. The fee is mandated by the Department of State. It applies to passport
applications that are submitted to an authorized agent, including a US Post Office, County Clerk
or other government office.

Passport applications submitted to the Department of State by mail are not subject to the fee
increase.

“The fee increase on April 2nd provides an extra incentive to obtain or update a passport now
instead of waiting,” said Mr. Maldonado. “By completing passport transactions during this time
of year, Hudson County residents can avoid the last-minute rush of the busy travel season in the
spring, and save money, too.”

Passport applications may be submitted to the Hudson County Clerk’s Office Division of
Passports located at the Hudson County Plaza Building at 257 Cornelison Avenue, 4th Floor,
Jersey City, NJ. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Passport
applicants must be present in the passport office no later than 3:30 PM for processing.

Applicants can also have their passport photograph taken at the County Clerk’s office for a fee of
$10.00
